Over the last decade, several well known Australian authors and children's literature experts have published books that deal with the importance of reading and children. The CBCA recommends these books, and urges you to read these or books like them. They will be available from most public libraries.

For Parents of Young Children

Jim Trelease is well known for his Read Aloud Handbook from the US

The National Literacy Trust is a UK charity which supports everything to do with literacy

Reading Rockets is a US site with lots of techniques and strategies for helping kids with reading
